My journey to here...
I have always loved to paint and create. I started oil painting in high school as part of an amazing art program run by Walt Bartman. Many of my classmates are professional painters, including Maura Matthews, Amanda Stenlund, and Gavin Glakas.
I continued painting through college, and while living in France, I studied painting, drawing, and ceramics at Parsons School of Design, Paris. Having the opportunity to live in Tokyo, Japan broadened my art world further, and I studied Sumi-e calligraphy and paper art.
I graduated from RISD with a certificate in Children's Book Illustration in 2013, where i began to work in watercolor more earnestly.
My other interest is teaching, both children and adults. I love how free and confident children are in their art making, and I try to bring that same freedom and confidence back to my adult students.
I am a signature member at the New England Watercolor Society and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, and an exhibiting artist member at the Providence Art Club and Art League Rhode Island.
In addition to showing locally at galleries in New England, my paintings are in private collections around the world, including Paris, Toronto, Washington D.C. and New York.
I currently live with my family in Providence, RI.
